Joel W. Cade’s life is inextricably intertwined with Piqua High School’s entry into the OHSAA state playoffs. Joel was born into poverty, doubted, ridiculed at every turn, and given no chance to succeed by those around him. Piqua football too, entered the OHSAA playoffs with the deck stacked against them, set up to fail and given little chance of success.
